Punjab:  The state of Punjab is witnessing rapid progress in establishing medical colleges, with a major development announced by Health Minister Balbir Singh on X (formerly Twitter). The minister shared that work on the Kapurthala Medical College has officially begun and is expected to be fully operational within the next two years.

According to Minister Balbir Singh, the Kapurthala Medical College will feature a 300-bed facility along with a hostel and other essential infrastructure, all constructed at a cost of ₹275 crore. In a significant boost to healthcare education in the region, the college will be named after Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji and will see an increase of 100 seats for aspiring medical students.
