Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains announces Rs 17.44 crore for 852 schools, creating modern classrooms across Punjab.
In a huge move to improve the learning environment, the Punjab School Education Department has allocated approximately Rs 17.44 crore for renovations in 852 government schools across the state. This program seeks to provide vibrant and accommodating settings for students by fostering a positive and engaging environment for academic development.
Punjab Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains shared this information , stating that the department has achieved equitable distribution of funds throughout the state. The monies were allocated as follows: Amritsar Rs 1.58 crore, Barnala Rs 44.64 lakh, Bathinda Rs 76.02 lakh, Faridkot Rs 50.31 lakh, Fatehgarh Sahib Rs 23.22 lakh, Fazilka Rs 1.13 crore, Ferozepur Rs 40.41 lakh, Gurdaspur over Rs 1.18 crore, Hoshiarpur Rs 97.44 lakh, Jalandhar Rs 97.41 lakh, Kapurthala Rs 20.52 lakh, Ludhiana Rs 1.50 crore, Malerkotla Rs 15.75 lakh, Mansa Rs 61.11 lakh, Moga Rs 32.74 lakh, Mukts
Bains directed all District Education Officers (Secondary) to put the funds directly into the bank accounts of their local School Management Committees (SMCs), ensuring transparency and community involvement in the rebuilding process.
This initiative is a significant step toward fulfilling Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann’s vision of providing quality educational infrastructure, Bains said, adding, “A bright, clean, and visually organized school environment directly impacts children’s concentration and learning experience. We are drawing a brighter future for our children and demonstrating that government schools are crucial to our educational rebirth.”
He went on to say, “by bringing our infrastructure in line with modern educational standards.” Our mission is to ensure that every child who enters a government school feels motivated, appreciated, and prepared to study.”
