Dalit Student Scholarship Punjab initiative : The Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has taken major steps to resolve long-standing issues related to student scholarships and education support for Dalit students. Cabinet Minister Dr. Baljit Kaur said the government is committed to ensuring that no student faces disruption in education due to financial delays.
She highlighted that between 2017 and 2020, not a single student received scholarship benefits under previous administrations, which severely impacted Dalit students across Punjab. Many students reportedly faced difficulties in continuing higher education due to pending payments.

Dalit Student Scholarship Punjab Initiative
Dr. Baljit Kaur emphasized the Dalit Student Scholarship Punjab initiative, stating that the Mann government has taken corrective measures to restore financial support to affected students. The Dalit Student Scholarship Punjab initiative aims to ensure timely disbursement of scholarship funds to eligible students.
She further added that under the Dalit Student Scholarship Punjab initiative, the government has released approximately ₹480 crore in pending scholarship payments from previous years. According to her, the Dalit Student Scholarship Punjab initiative is helping restore trust in the education system.

The minister also stated that the Dalit Student Scholarship Punjab initiative has resulted in the restoration of withheld degrees to students who were earlier deprived of their academic certificates due to unpaid scholarships.
