Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann engages Japanese investors to boost opportunities in manufacturing, mobility, electronics, food processing, and renewable energy.

Bhagwant Mann, the chief minister of Punjab, argued on Wednesday for strategic partnerships with Japan in the areas of global services, electronics, food processing, advanced manufacturing, mobility, and renewable energy.

Along with Cabinet Minister Sanjeev Arora, the Chief Minister virtually held a thorough discussion with a high-level Japanese delegation that included representatives from the Japanese Embassy, JETRO, JCCII, and more than 25 major Japanese corporations that operate in India, including Panasonic, Sumitomo, Nippon, NEC, Toyota, and others.
The exchange was a crucial component of Punjab’s global outreach in the lead-up to the 6th Progressive Punjab Investors’ Summit, which will take place at the Indian School of Business (ISB), Mohali, from March 13–15, 2026. The Minister emphasized that Punjab has drawn more than Rs 1.39 lakh crore in industrial investments, creating 5.09 lakh jobs. The state is also investing Rs 5,000 crore to strengthen its power infrastructure in order to meet future industrial and renewable energy demands.
