Patiala: Punjab Health Minister Balbir Singh flagged off free bus service and medical ambulance vans in Dandrala Kharoud and Kansuha Kalan villages of Patiala Rural as part of the Punjab Government’s continued efforts to improve Rural Healthcare Services in Punjab.
The initiative aims to provide better healthcare access and transportation facilities to residents living in rural areas. Officials said the move reflects the Mann Government’s commitment to ensuring that essential services reach every village and household across the state.
New Initiative to Improve Rural Healthcare Services in Punjab
Speaking on the occasion, Balbir Singh said the Punjab Government is continuously working to strengthen Rural Healthcare Services in Punjab by improving healthcare awareness, emergency response systems, and public transport facilities in villages.
He stated that the free bus service and medical ambulance vans will help villagers access hospitals, health centres, and other important services more conveniently. The ambulance vans are expected to provide quicker medical assistance during emergencies, especially for elderly residents, women, and patients in remote areas.

Mann Government Focused on Village Development and Healthcare Access
Balbir Singh said the Mann Government’s main objective is to provide quality healthcare services and basic facilities to people at their doorstep. He added that development work is being carried out continuously in villages and cities to strengthen Rural Healthcare Services in Punjab and improve the standard of living for residents.
According to officials, the initiative will also help reduce transportation difficulties faced by villagers while travelling for medical treatment and daily needs. The government believes that better connectivity and emergency healthcare support are essential for rural development.
