E20 Petrol has become the latest political flashpoint after Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal criticized the Central Government over its implementation and alleged communication surrounding the fuel. According to information shared by AAP Punjab on X, Kejriwal accused the BJP-led Centre of spreading misinformation regarding E20 Petrol and its impact on vehicles.
He said the issue deserves greater transparency, especially as more consumers begin using E20 Petrol across the country.
Kejriwal Alleges Centre Is Misleading Automobile Companies
Speaking on the issue, Kejriwal claimed that the Central Government is misleading automobile manufacturers regarding E20 Petrol. He argued that if there are concerns about the compatibility of certain vehicles with E20 Petrol, consumers should be informed clearly instead of being left uncertain.
The AAP leader said people have the right to know whether their vehicles are fully compatible with the fuel and whether its use could lead to additional maintenance or repair costs.

Letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi Planned
As part of his response, Kejriwal announced that he would write to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, urging the government to address public concerns over E20 Petrol. He said the letter would seek clarity on the policy and request safeguards to protect vehicle owners from any potential financial losses.
According to Kejriwal, the government should ensure complete transparency before promoting wider adoption of E20 Petrol.
Questions Over Compensation for Vehicle Damage
Kejriwal also questioned whether the Central Government would compensate vehicle owners if E20 Petrol causes damage to vehicles that are not fully compatible with the fuel. He said consumers should not be forced to bear the financial burden if problems arise due to policy decisions.
He called on the Centre to provide clear answers regarding vehicle safety, manufacturer guidance, and consumer protection.
