AAP Punjab Demands Flood Compensation, Questions Modi Government on US Trade Deals

Mohali, Punjab: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP Punjab) has once again intensified its demand for accountability from the central government regarding pending flood relief for the state. Cabinet Minister and Punjab AAP President Aman Arora , addressing a rally in Moga, questioned whether Union Home Minister Amit Shah would deliver the promised compensation to Punjab.

“Out of ₹1,600 crore announced as flood relief, only ₹16 has reached Punjab. Are the compensation checks coming at all, or is Punjab being ignored?” asked Arora, highlighting the delay in fulfilling critical obligations to the state.

AAP Punjab also criticized the Modi government’s approach to international trade agreements, particularly its unilateral deals with the United States. Arora questioned the rationale behind signing agreements that could disadvantage Punjab’s traders and industrialists, especially when concessions are given to neighboring states. “Will Punjab receive compensation for the losses suffered by our businesses due to these deals?” he asked.

In addition, Arora raised concerns over the discontinuation of the 20-year-old MNREGA scheme and decisions affecting local governance and public welfare. He called these moves “against the interests of the people” and demanded clear explanations for policies that impact workers, farmers, and citizens of Punjab.

The rally also saw AAP Punjab emphasizing the need for transparent governance and equitable treatment of states. Arora urged Amit Shah to directly address the people of Punjab in Moga and provide immediate clarity on pending compensation, trade policy impacts, and other public welfare concerns.
