Punjab Government Strengthens Scheduled Castes Welfare Initiatives: Dr. Baljit Kaur

Minister for Social Justice issues directives to ensure timely and effective delivery of benefits through PSCLDFC schemes

Dr. Baljit Kaur Directs Punjab Scheduled Castes Land Development and Finance Corporation to Ensure Welfare Schemes Reach the Needy

In a move to further uplift marginalized communities, the Punjab Government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, reaffirmed its commitment to the welfare and empowerment of Scheduled Castes across the state.

At a high-level review meeting held at the Punjab Civil Secretariat, Dr. Baljit Kaur, Minister for Social Justice, Empowerment and Minorities, emphasized that special priority is being accorded to the progress of Scheduled Castes through targeted welfare schemes.

PSCLDFC Performance reviewed

The meeting was attended by Mr. Ravinder Hans, Director of the Punjab Scheduled Castes Land Development and Finance Corporation (PSCLDFC), who presented a comprehensive overview of the Corporation’s ongoing welfare initiatives. He highlighted that a large number of needy families are already benefitting from these schemes and suggested organizing special awareness camps in every district to expand outreach and ensure rightful beneficiaries are directly served.

Staff Shortages and Administrative Issues Addressed

Key challenges such as staff shortages, administrative bottlenecks, and pending departmental matters were also raised during the meeting. Dr. Kaur listened attentively and issued immediate directions to resolve several pressing issues on the spot, assuring that the remaining concerns would be addressed on priority.

Minister Calls for Efficient Implementation

Dr. Baljit Kaur reiterated the government’s aim to make the implementation of welfare schemes more efficient, prompt, and organized. She stressed that no eligible individual should be left out, and called upon officials to ensure maximum outreach and timely benefit delivery to Scheduled Caste families across Punjab.
