Dr. Mohan Yadav Promises Water to Every Field, Clears ₹900 Crore Irrigation Projects

Three irrigation projects worth ₹898 crore approved for Rajgarh and Raisen, benefiting over 20,000 farming families.

MP CM Dr. Mohan Yadav declares 2026 as Year of Farmer Welfare and approves ₹898 crore irrigation projects to expand water access statewide.

Dr. Mohan Yadav, the Chief Minister, stated that farmers are our pride. We have worked tirelessly to improve farmers’ dignity. Our goal is to give water to thirsty fields, and we will soon achieve it if we can reach every field. Dr. Yadav, the Chief Minister, addressed farmers on Tuesday at his residence.

Dr. mohan Yadav, the Chief Minister, stated that our government is committed to farmer welfare. We have declared 2026 to be the Year of Farmer Welfare in order to make the state’s farmers prosperous and powerful. He stated that the Parvati-Kalisindh-Chambal Project, the Ken-Betwa River Linking Project, and the Tapi Ground Water Recharge Mega Project are all moving along quickly. Following the completion of these three river projects, practically the whole agricultural region of the state will be irrigated. He stated that Madhya Pradesh currently has 56 lakh hectares of irrigated agricultural land. Our government has set an objective of increasing it to 100 lakh hectares as soon as possible.

Dr. Yadav, the Chief Minister, stated that we are determined to ensure an uninterrupted supply of energy and water to every hamlet and field in the state. Public figures and farmers from Rajgarh’s Sarangpur Assembly seat, as well as Raisen’s Bhojpur and Udaipura Assembly constituencies, greeted and congratulated Chief Minister Dr. Yadav. It is worth noting that during the Council of Ministers meeting on January 13, 2026, the state government approved three distinct irrigation projects totaling approximately Rs 900 crore in the interest of farmers in these three Assembly constituencies. Farmers had gathered at the Chief Minister’s residence to express their appreciation for this gift. A big number of farmers applauded Chief Minister Dr. Yadav for his effort. The farmers expressed their satisfaction and thanks by presenting him with an icon of Lord Shiva, a picture of Beejasan Mata, organic grains, and replicas of steel and wooden ploughs.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav stated that he hails from a farming family and understands the value of irrigation in agriculture. He stated that Madhya Pradesh is the maternal home of several rivers, including the Narmada, Chambal, Betwa, Tapi, and Kshipra, and as a result, our state is rich in water resources. The rivers in the state offer irrigation water to farmers and serve as lifelines for us. We are working tirelessly to provide enough irrigation facilities for agriculture. On this occasion, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav thanked former Chief Ministers Late Shri Sundarlal Patwa, Sushri Uma Bharti, and Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan for their efforts to farmer welfare and irrigation facility expansion in the state. He stated that Late Shri Patwa was an exemplary statesman for the state.

Farmers of three assembly constituencies will benefit.

According to Chief Minister Dr. mohan Yadav, the Cabinet has authorized three irrigation projects for Rajgarh and Raisen districts totaling Rs 898.42 crore. Irrigation will be supplied for 11,040 hectares of land in 26 villages in Sarangpur tehsil as part of the Mohanpura Expansion (Sarangpur) Irrigation Project, which costs Rs 396 crore 21 lakh and is located in the Sarangpur Assembly constituency of Rajgarh district. This project will help 10,400 farmer families. The Sultanpura Lift Irrigation Project, costing Rs 115 crore 99 million in Raisen district’s Bhojpur Assembly constituency, will offer irrigation to 5,700 hectares of land in 20 villages of Sultanpur tehsil. This will help 3,100 farmer families. Similarly, in the Udaipura Assembly constituency of Raisen district, the Barna Lift Irrigation Project, which costs Rs 386 crore 22 lakh, will supply irrigation to 15,000 hectares of land in 36 villages in Bareli tehsil. This project will directly benefit 6,800 farming families.

Public representatives and farmers express gratitude to CM Dr. Yadav.

At the ceremony, Shri Gautam Tetwal, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Skill Development and Employment, stated that Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, like Bhagirath, has resolved to bring the Ganga of irrigation to every field in the state. Rajgarh will also benefit from the Parvati-Kalisindh-Chambal (PKC) initiative. Over 200 villages in the district, as well as thousands of residents, will benefit from clean drinking water and irrigation. With the expansion of irrigation facilities in the district, the movement of laborers and farmers seeking jobs to remote places is steadily decreasing.

Shri Narendra Shivaji Patel, Minister of State for Public Health and Medical Education, expressed thanks on behalf of farmers in the Udaipura Assembly seat, saying that Chief Minister Dr. Yadav never fails to fulfill his commitments. He revealed the Barna Irrigation Project’s development at a public assembly in Bareli. Madhya Pradesh, led by Prime Minister Shri Modi and Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, is playing an important role in the road to Developed India @ 2047.

Shri Surendra Patwa, a former minister and Bhojpur MLA, stated that Chief Minister Dr. Yadav has offered the farmers of Sultanpur a Rs 115 crore irrigation project. This would offer irrigation and drinking water to more than 20 tribal-dominated settlements. Raisen District President Shri Rakesh Sharma, along with other public figures and around 300 farmers, attended the event.
