Delhi waked up to heavy rains; Water-logging and traffic hit Delhi NCR, IMD warns of more shower

Delhi woke up today to heavy rain, bringing much-needed respite from the heat but also triggering widespread waterlogging and severe traffic congestion across several parts of the National Capital Region (NCR). Commuters faced long delays as vehicles crawled through flooded streets, while low-lying areas drenched due downpour

The rains have been predicted by the met department in the moderate-heavy range for the coming days in Delhi and adjoining regions and warning residents  to get prepared for wet days ahead. The monsoon involving a heavy spell is bringing through active winds from the Bay of Bengal to add moisture into this system.

Water was reported logging at important junctions like Minto Road, ITO, parts of Gurugram, Noida, and Ghaziabad, crushing many office-goers during peak hours. Extra traffic personnel and drainage teams were deployed to rectify the situation.

While the rains has brought some relief from sweating conditions, it have also raised concerns about flooding in vulnerable zones if heavy showers persist. With more rain on the horizon, officials are urging citizen to plan their travel accordingly and stay updated on weather results
