CM Nayab Singh Saini orders high-level probe into Haryana Labour Department over worker registration and work slip discrepancies.

Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini has ordered prompt action after taking serious note of the discrepancies pertaining to the verification of work slips and worker registration at the Haryana Labour Department. A high-level inquiry committee has been established on the Chief Minister’s orders to carry out a comprehensive examination into the issue. The committee is expected to provide the government with a complete report within a month.

According to media sources, the Chief Minister was informed about the situation in a letter sent by the Labour Minister of Haryana; however, the Chief Minister’s Office did not receive the letter. The department did, however, produce a file on the subject, telling the Chief Minister that a committee had been established to look into the matter and that reports from 13 districts had already been compiled, with reports from the other nine districts still awaited. As a result, the department declared that once the other districts’ reports were received, a comprehensive report would be submitted.

The Chief Minister took the matter seriously and sent the file back the following day, instructing the Labour Minister to provide a comprehensive report from every area and precise financial loss estimates. The report is still pending, though. The matter concerns construction workers and the benefits they get under different Labor Department programs. These people’s registration as building and construction workers is under question because it has been reported that the projects they claimed to have worked on were not authentic.

A high-level committee headed by Sh. Pankaj Aggarwal, IAS, and consisting of Sh. Rajiv Rattan, IAS, and Sh. Pankaj Nain, IPS, has been established by the Chief Minister in light of the gravity of the accusations.

The committee will look at the entire situation and determine what irregularities different officials and other people have committed. To make sure that such occurrences don’t happen again, the committee will also suggest remedial or preventative actions. Within a month of reviewing all available information, the committee will submit its report.
