Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini Highlights Livestock Sector’s Role in Atmanirbhar Bharat

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini stresses the importance of modern, profitable, and sustainable livestock farming in strengthening the rural economy and advancing Atmanirbhar Bharat.

Kurukshetra, Haryana: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini stated that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, India is steadily advancing toward Atmanirbhar Bharat, with the animal husbandry sector playing a crucial role. He emphasized the state government’s commitment to making livestock farming modern, profitable, and sustainable, boosting farmers’ incomes and strengthening the rural economy.

Speaking on the third day of the 41st State-Level Livestock Exhibition in Kurukshetra, CM Nayab Singh Saini  highlighted opportunities in milk production, value addition, exports, and livestock-based start-ups. To unlock this potential, the government is expanding animal health services to villages, promoting breed improvement, enhancing milk collection and marketing systems, and improving training and credit access for farmers.

During the exhibition, the Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini toured various stalls, observed different breeds, interacted with farmers, and honoured top performers. He also participated in a traditional ritual by feeding jaggery to an indigenous cow, reflecting Haryana’s rich rural and livestock heritage.

CM Nayab Singh Saini Highlights Haryana Livestock Credit, Dairies, Insurance, and Veterinary Initiatives

CM Nayab Singh Saini highlighted key government initiatives, including the issuance of 2.20 lakh Livestock Farmer Credit Cards with ₹3,449 crore disbursed, the establishment of 14,000+ hi-tech and mini dairies, and the promotion of women farmer dairies with interest-free loans. He also mentioned the Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyay Collective Livestock Insurance Scheme, covering 15.33 lakh animals with ₹106 crore in claims paid so far, along with 70 Mobile Veterinary Units and nearly 3,000 veterinary institutions offering vaccination and disease-eradication programs, including a mission to eliminate brucellosis by 2030.

The CM Nayab Singh concluded that healthy animals, prosperous farmers, and empowered villages form the foundation of a Viksit Haryana and Viksit Bharat.
