Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Friday asserted that the coming era belongs to the BJP, adding that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Punjab has the potential to become one of the leading states in the country. Speaking at a Samman Samaroh in village Panjola, Saini said that once a BJP government is formed in Punjab, the pace of development will accelerate, and all Central Government welfare schemes will be implemented effectively on the ground.
On his arrival, the Chief Guest was warmly welcomed by organizer Satpal Poonia, who presented him with a bouquet and a siropa.
Haryana Leading in Farmer-Friendly Policies
Nayab Saini highlighted Haryana’s model for farmers, noting that it is the first state in India to provide Minimum Support Price (MSP) on 24 crops, with payments directly transferred to farmers’ accounts within 48 hours. Compensation for crop loss due to natural calamities is also deposited directly into accounts, helping farmers feel secure and self-reliant.

Nayab Saini: BJP Delivering on Promises
The Chief Minister Nayab Saini emphasized that the BJP has fulfilled 60 out of 217 promises made in its Sankalp Patra during the first phase, with the remaining commitments progressing rapidly. He noted the shared cultural and social bond between Punjab and Haryana and suggested that Punjab could benefit from adopting Haryana’s development model.
Women Empowerment Initiatives
Under Haryana’s Lado Lakshmi Yojana, women receive ₹2,100 per month, with a total budget allocation of ₹5,000 crore. Saini contrasted this with Punjab, where a similar promise of ₹1,100 has not yet been implemented, highlighting differences in governance and delivery.

Housing and Land Distribution
Nayab Saini reported that under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, nearly 1.5 lakh people in Haryana have been provided houses. Additionally, 27,000 eligible families have received 100-square-yard plots, and 15,000 people in 14 cities have been allotted 30-square-yard plots during the first phase. Ownership rights were also granted to individuals in possession of panchayat land for over 20 years.
Healthcare and Social Security
The Chief Minister Nayab Saini emphasized that Haryana provides free treatment up to ₹5 lakh per year under the Ayushman and Chirayu schemes, benefiting around 25 lakh people with over ₹4,000 crore spent. In contrast, he criticized Punjab’s Mohalla Clinics as insufficiently equipped.
Haryana also provides a pension of ₹3,200 per month to more than 34.5 lakh senior citizens, directly credited to their bank accounts between the 1st and 10th of every month. The Happy Card scheme offers free bus travel up to 1,000 kilometers for families earning less than ₹1 lakh annually.

PM Modi’s Vision for Punjab
The Chief Minister praised Prime Minister Modi for naming Adampur Airport after Shri Guru Ravidas Ji and for plans to develop Jalandhar, Ludhiana, and Amritsar as industrial hubs. Saini urged Punjab residents to support the Prime Minister’s vision of a Viksit Bharat, ensuring the state emerges as a leader in development.
