Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini directs comprehensive Village Development Plans under Mahagram Mahayojana to bring urban-level facilities to 21 villages.
Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has instructed officials to evaluate the current conditions of villages selected under the Mahagram Mahayojana and develop comprehensive Village Development Plans. The goal is to ensure holistic development and provide modern, urban-style facilities in rural areas. He emphasized that panchayat land should be identified and planning conducted in consultation with the Gram Sabha and villagers, so that the plans cater to both current and future needs of the communities.
CM Saini made these remarks while chairing a review meeting of the Mahagram Mahayojana at Haryana Niwas on Wednesday. During the meeting, detailed presentations were made on the Village Development Plans for five Mahagrams — Kohand (Karnal), Sondhad (Palwal), Deeghot (Palwal), Aurangabad (Palwal), and Khanpur Kalan (Sonipat).

He directed that the plans should include detailed, sector-wise strategies for all proposed land uses. The Chief Minister highlighted that while designing these plans, the cultural heritage, traditional character, and local identity of villages must be preserved and promoted. He also emphasized the use of modern technology, including drone surveys, to ensure accurate and effective planning.
Under the Mahagram Mahayojana, CM Saini said, urban-level infrastructure such as roads, water supply, sewerage systems, green spaces, and other civic amenities will be developed in 21 selected Mahagrams across Haryana, significantly enhancing the quality of life in rural areas.
