Under Operation Kavach 10.0, East Delhi Police arrested 36 criminals and filed 33 cases to curb crime, targeting smugglers, bookies, and drug offenders.

The East Delhi Police have stepped up their efforts to combat criminal activity since the new Police Commissioner arrived, launching campaigns around Delhi under new initiatives.

Targeting smugglers, bookies, and other criminals on Saturday and Sunday, Operation Kavach 10.0 led to the arrest of 36 criminals and the filing of 33 cases under a number of statutes, including the Gambling Act, the NDPS Act, and the Arms Act.

The goal of the operation, according to East Delhi Deputy Commissioner of Police Abhishek Dhaniya, was to increase public safety in the city. Ten liquor smugglers were apprehended and 1,206 quarter bottles of liquor were found; four people were charged under the Arms Act; seven people were charged under the NDPS Act; and fifteen people were charged under the Gambling Act. In addition, 97 individuals were arrested for public alcohol use.

In addition, the police questioned 114 proclaimed offenders, punished 227 individuals for selling tobacco goods without permits, and questioned 1,678 suspects. The accused and suspected were subjected to extensive interrogation during the operation, which took place throughout Delhi.

To safeguard justice and public safety, DCP Dhaniya emphasized that the effort will continue, with tight watch maintained over drug traffickers, bookies, liquor smugglers, and other offenders.
