AAP alleges Delhi Police accepted bribes to allow construction trucks into Delhi during GRAP Stage IV restrictions amid severe pollution crisis.
New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Monday accused the Delhi Police of engaging in systematic bribery, claiming that officials were undermining the city’s efforts to combat severe air pollution.
AAP leader Saurabh Bhardwaj shared a video on X alleging that police personnel were accepting bribes to allow trucks carrying construction materials to enter Delhi, despite restrictions imposed under GRAP Stage IV.
“GRAP 4 is a scam. Here’s a video from last night showing @DelhiPolice taking bribes and allowing trucks full of construction material to enter. CCTV footage will reveal that at least 300 trucks were allowed in a single night. This happens all night long in Delhi. They don’t care about the impact of pollution on children. Let’s see if @CPDelhi suspends the responsible DCP,” Bhardwaj wrote while posting the clip.
The footage, shot from a distance, shows traffic police stopping a truck, speaking with the driver, and then letting it proceed. The truck was temporarily parked behind the officers before being waved through.
AAP also posted the video on its official X handle, alleging that pollution curbs were being violated for financial gain.

The party said, “Delhi’s AQI has crossed 600, yet people’s lives are being compromised. The BJP government implemented GRAP-4 only for show. During this pollution crisis, BJP-controlled Delhi Police are allegedly allowing trucks carrying construction materials to enter the city in exchange for money.”

The allegations follow the Centre’s pollution watchdog invoking Stage IV of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) across Delhi-NCR after air quality reached the ‘severe’ category.
Under GRAP Stage IV, trucks transporting construction materials such as sand, stone, cement, bricks, ready-mix concrete, or debris are barred from entering Delhi. Vehicles violating the rules face strict penalties or seizure under existing regulations.
Additionally, motor vehicles registered outside Delhi that do not meet BS-VI emission standards are prohibited from operating in the city during the restriction period.
