AAP accused CM Rekha Gupta of falsely claiming that Vasudev Ghat’s Chhath Puja reservoir used Yamuna water, alleging it was filled with filtered plant water.
The Aam Aadmi Party on Sunday challenged Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta’s claim that the artificial reservoir constructed at Vasudev Ghat for Chhath Puja was filled with water sourced from the Yamuna River.
Delhi AAP President Saurabh Bharadwaj dismissed the claim as false and described it as “farziwada” (fakery). He invited the Chief Minister to accompany him to the site in order to present to the public what he referred to as the truth.

“The water in your artificial Yamuna was, in fact, filtered water sourced from a Water Treatment Plant,” Bharadwaj stated. He further stated that the laborers laboring at the ghat were also expressing the same.
Bharadwaj posted a video on the social media platform X in which Chief Minister Gupta is seen stating in an interview that the water in the reservoir originated from the Yamuna and had penetrated through the soil. He also disseminated a media report that disputes this assertion.
According to the report, site personnel stated that the water was delivered through a green pipe originating from a treatment facility. They indicated that the area was desiccated prior to preparation, with a plastic sheet placed to retain water, thereby reducing the likelihood of seepage from the river.
