Nitish Kumar Unveils Rs 13.10 Crore Projects, Appoints Professors at LN Mishra Institute
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar inaugurated several key development projects worth Rs 13.10 crore at the Lalit Narayan Mishra Institute of Economic Development and Social Change on Monday, reinforcing the state’s push towards academic infrastructure enhancement and faculty recruitment.
During the event, the Chief Minister also distributed appointment letters to 20 newly appointed assistant professors, selected through the Bihar University Service Commission, marking a significant step in boosting the state’s higher education system.
Infrastructure Boost at LN Mishra Institute
The projects inaugurated by CM Nitish Kumar include:
- Annex Building: Rs 2.87 crore
- Warden Block: Rs 4.90 crore
- Startup Block: Rs 5.33 crore
These projects aim to modernize the institute’s campus, improve student accommodations, and foster an entrepreneurial ecosystem through the dedicated startup block.
The infrastructure expansion is expected to benefit hundreds of students and budding entrepreneurs while enhancing the learning environment at the prestigious Patna-based institute.
Faculty Appointments to Strengthen Academic Excellence
In a symbolic gesture, CM Kumar handed over appointment letters to five of the newly recruited assistant professors:
- Ritu Narayan, Preeti Singh, Ashok Kumar from the Management Department
- Santosh Kumar Jha, Sanjay Kumar from the Computer Science Department
These faculty appointments are part of a larger effort by the Bihar government to strengthen teaching resources and improve academic standards in the state’s institutions.
According to officials, the recruitment process was conducted by the Bihar University Service Commission to ensure transparency and merit-based selection.
Tribute to Lalit Narayan Mishra
The event commenced with the Chief Minister offering floral tributes to the life-size statue of former Union Railway Minister Lalit Narayan Mishra, in whose honor the institute is named.
