Bihar Election 2025: RJD’s Alok Mehta and VIP chief Mukesh Sahni confirm seat-sharing formula will be announced in 2 days after meet at Tejashwi Yadav home.

Bihar Election 2025: In the next two days, the opposition INDIA-Bloc is expected to reveal their seat-sharing formula ahead of the highly anticipated Bihar assembly election. The coalition partners discussed the potential formula during a high-profile meeting on Sunday at the home of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav. The opposition alliance’s seat sharing is more complicated than it was in the 2020 assembly election because new parties like JMM and Pashupati Paras’ RLJP have been included. Although Tejashwi has been in charge of the alliance for years, the opposition has not yet named a candidate for chief minister.

Several leaders, including RJD national general secretary Alok Mehta and Vikassheel Insan Party (VIP) president Mukesh Sahni, affirmed that the formula will be revealed within the next two days after attending the meeting at Tejashwi’s home. “But pardon me for giving away the specifics. PTI cited Sahni as adding, “We will make all the announcements at a press conference… the day after tomorrow.” “The majority of topics have been covered. There are still some problems to be resolved. However, everything will be finalized in two days, and we will make all the announcements at a press conference,” Mehta said reporters.

The RJD, the Congress, three Left-leaning parties, and the Vikassheel Insan Party (VIP), led by former state minister Mukesh Sahni, make up the opposition INDIA Bloc. After nearly ten years, Tejashwi Yadav said earlier this month that the opposition would establish a government in the state. He added that if the “vote chori” had not taken place, the alliance would have been in power.

The much-anticipated Bihar election polling dates will be announced by the Election Commission today at 4 p.m. Following requests from the majority of political parties to hold the polls in one or two rounds, the Bihar election is now scheduled to take place in fewer phases. In addition, it is anticipated that the election will take place shortly after the Chhath festival in order to guarantee the highest possible voter turnout.
