Bihar Police adds 1,218 sub-inspectors with advanced training in cybercrime, legal procedures, and crowd management to bolster security statewide.
In a noteworthy advancement toward enhancing the law and order framework in Bihar, a total of 1,218 new sub-inspectors are scheduled to be appointed on Saturday. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will preside over the ceremonial salutation to these recently trained officers during the prestigious passing-out parade at the Bihar Police Training Centre in Rajgir, thus facilitating their deployment in service to the state.
The contemporary generation is endowed with advanced training methods.
These sub-inspectors of the 2023 cohort have undertaken comprehensive and intensive training at PTC Rajgir over the course of several months. The Director of the Police Training Centre, R. Malar Villi, stated that in light of the evolving nature of contemporary crime, these recruits have been equipped with proficiency in both conventional and modern policing methodologies.
Determine the reasons for their significance
Cybercrime, comprehensive training in ATM testing and banking fraud prevention, contemporary weapons handling, vehicle operation, equestrian skills, cycling, as well as yoga, strategic acumen, and legal considerations collectively render this cohort distinctive. This training has been conducted across both interior and outdoor settings to ensure that these officers are competent in all circumstances.

An illustration of inclusivity
This cohort comprises 779 men, 436 women, and 3 transgender officers. This represents a significant advancement in promoting inclusiveness and diversity within the Bihar Police. In addition, twenty-three darogas have been appointed through the Sports Quota, reflecting the intent to leverage the physical fitness and discipline of athletes within the police force. Interestingly, four trainees from the Jharkhand cadre are also currently undergoing training within this unit.
The nation’s security will be strengthened.
The scarcity of darogas has been an ongoing concern in numerous districts of Bihar for an extended period. The deployment of these 1,218 new officers will not only address this deficiency but also enhance the police force’s capacity to handle sensitive and complex cases such as cybercrime, economic fraud, and crowd management. These officers, who have undergone specialized training to address cyber crimes, particularly in the digital era, will serve as a valuable asset to the state.
