A heated phone call between MLA Virendra and a local village secretary has gone viral, drawing sharp criticism over power misuse and administrative decorum
The confrontation resembles a scene from TV series Panchayat, as the MLA loses his temper when the official fails to recognize him over the call.
The MLA had called to check on the status of a death certificate for Rinki Devi’s late husband. On hearing the secretary request his identity, he responded angrily
“You don’t know Bhai Virendra? The whole country knows me”
Th situation escalated when the secretary stood his ground, saying:
“I will speak respectfully if you do”. I am not scared of you,
to which the furious MLA snapped,
“Joote se marunga. Record this you want to transfer me? This won’t stop at transfer
Social Media platforms lit up after the clip surfaced, drawing comparisons to Panchayat and prompting discussion around officials’ rights and politicians conduct in Public Service.
