The Vinesh Phogat WFI notice has triggered a fresh controversy in Indian wrestling after the Wrestling Federation of India issued a detailed show-cause notice against star wrestler Vinesh Phogat, accusing her of indiscipline and anti-doping rule violations. The federation has also declared her ineligible to compete in domestic tournaments until June 26.

The Vinesh Phogat WFI notice alleges that the two-time World Championships medallist failed to complete the mandatory six-month notice period required under United World Wrestling regulations for athletes returning from retirement. This has effectively delayed her planned comeback to competitive wrestling.
