After India’s win over Pakistan, captain Suryakumar Yadav pledged to donate all his Asia Cup match earnings to the Indian military and Pahalgam victims’ families.

Delhi, New Delhi: After leading the Indian team to an incredible victory in the 2025 Asia Cup, star captain Suryakumar Yadav took to social media to declare that he would be giving the Indian army his entire Asia Cup match fees in appreciation of their work during Operation Sindoor. He also promised to donate the money to the families of the Pahalgam victims.

The 35-year-old star batsman has frequently supported the families of the Pahalgam victims and the Indian military, and his decision to pledge his match fees for the tournament further demonstrates his devotion to and love for his nation. Suryakumar Yadav made the announcement on X.

I have decided to donate my match fees from this tournament to support our Armed Forces and the families of the victims who suffered from the Pahalgam terror attack. You always remain in my thoughts 🙏🏽

It is important to note that following India’s victory over Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2025 final, a number of contentious incidents occurred. Despite winning the title, the Men in Blue declined to accept the trophy from Mohsin Naqvi, the head of the PCB and ACC.

Suryakumar Yadav talked candidly about not winning the Asia Cup trophy.

Notably, Mohsin Naqvi, who was meant to present the trophy, left and even took it with him when the Indian team did not come up the dais to accept the title. In light of the fact that India celebrated without the championship, Suryakumar Yadav stated that he had never seen something like this before.

“I believe that there is one instance in which I have never witnessed a victorious team being disqualified from receiving a trophy since I began playing and watching cricket.
