Hardik Pandya out due to quadriceps injury, skipping Asia Cup final and Australia series. Rehab underway, may return for India’s South Africa white-ball tour.
India’s all-round star, Hardik Pandya, suffered an injury during a Super 4 match against Sri Lanka just before the Asia Cup final.
He was removed from the field after bowling just one over in that match, missing the final against Pakistan, the ongoing India vs. Australia ODI, and the ensuing T20 series.
Hardik Pandya must, however, spend four weeks at the BCCI Centre of Excellence, according to a recent Times of India story. He might even return in time for India’s forthcoming white-ball series against South Africa.

Report: Pandya Won’t Need Surgery
Hardik Pandya suffered from a quadriceps injury during the Asia Cup Super 4 match against Sri Lanka. Remarkably, according to the TOI story, he has already begun the rehabilitation process and won’t require surgery.
As previously mentioned, he was not included in the squad for the T20 series against the same opponent and missed the ongoing India vs. Australia ODI series.
Following this match, the Men in Blue will play three ODIs and five T20s against South Africa before donning the Test whites once more for a two-match series at home.
Pandya may be able to return in time for the white-ball tournaments against the Proteas, which begin in late November 2025, though nothing has been formally announced as of yet.
Another Injured Indian Cricket Star Set for a Comeback Soon
It’s interesting to note that another Indian cricket player who has been sidelined for a few months is expected to make a comeback. It’s none other than Rishabh Pant, who suffered a fractured toe in the fourth Test match between Australia and India this past summer.
