Australia sealed the ODI series as India captain Shubman Gill blamed dropped catches and a low score; Adam Zampa starred with four wickets.

Australia won the ODI series with a disciplined all-around effort on Wednesday, and India skipper Shubman Gill acknowledged that his team suffered greatly from dropped catches and a barely acceptable score. After losing the first ODI at Perth by seven wickets, India lost the second one by two wickets. The Indian fielders were not at their best in this game, giving up at least three opportunities, including one from Matthew Short, who scored a brilliant 74 off 78 balls.

Just enough runs were scored by us. During the post-match presentation ceremony, Gill remarked, “Defending that kind of total after dropping a couple of chances is never easy.”

There were also no monsters in the pitch, according to the young captain.

“The weather made the toss more important in the first game, but both teams played for over 50 overs in this one. After 15 to 20 overs, the wicket settled wonderfully after doing a little early on, Gill remarked.

The 26-year-old gave senior batsman Rohit Sharma kudos after his valiant 73.

“Returning to play after a long absence is never simple. Although the first phase was difficult, I’m really happy with his batting performance. The India captain remarked, “He fought well; I’d say he missed out on a really big knock.”

Under Mitchell Marsh’s leadership, Australia showed depth in both areas, and the home captain praised his bowling attack and the poise of his younger batsmen.

“Hazlewood was amazing. We kept attempting to get wickets with our bowling unit. The young players’ batting was fantastic, and Australian cricket has a bright future. We won’t celebrate too much tonight, but we will undoubtedly enjoy the series victory. India is a wonderful country with amazing experiences,” Marsh remarked.

Adam Zampa, a leg-spinner who took four wickets and was named Player of the Match, was once again instrumental in the middle overs.
