Tarunpreet Singh Sond instructs to create a more conducive environment for industries in Punjab

Chandigarh, October 4:

          Punjab’s Minister for Investment Promotion, Industries and Commerce, Tarunpreet Singh Sond, has issued instructions to senior officials of the department to create a more conducive, transparent, and hassle-free environment for industries in the state. During a review meeting held at the Udyog Bhawan with senior officials of Investment Promotion, Industries and Commerce, Invest Punjab and related corporations/boards, Sond emphasized that taking Punjab to the forefront in the industrial sector, as per the directions of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, is one of his key objectives. To achieve this goal, he urged all officials to cooperate with dedication and integrity.

          While addressing the officials, Sond stressed the need to further intensify efforts to ensure that government schemes, policies, and programs related to industries reach small and medium enterprises. He pointed out that many central and state schemes remain underutilized because industrialists are often unaware of them. He suggested that online information on these schemes should be made available so that industrialists can access it with just one click. He also emphasized the need for steps to improve easy access to Invest Punjab’s website for internet users so that when global industrialists search for the best investment destinations, Punjab’s name appears at the top.

– Issued instructions to ensure that government schemes, policies, and programs reach the grassroots level

– Reviewed the performance with  senior officials of the Department of Industries, Invest Punjab and related boards and corporations 

          The Minister also directed that better coordination between corporations/boards related to the Department of Industries and various other departments is essential to enhance their performance. He stated that the government under Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann is working tirelessly to promote the growth of new and established industries in Punjab, and this can only be achieved if the bureaucracy contributes meaningfully. He added that a favorable industrial environment will develop in the state if administrative bottlenecks are minimized.

          Sond motivated the officials to work with dedication to make Punjab the best industrial state, thereby strengthening the state’s economy. Expressing satisfaction, he noted that significant investment is flowing into Punjab due to the efforts of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, and this momentum will be further accelerated.

          During the meeting, Tejveer Singh, Additional Chief Secretary of the Department of Industries, briefed the Minister about the department, Invest Punjab, and the performance, policies, and other issues of the related boards and corporations.
