NASHIK — The ongoing investigation into the Nida Khan TCS Nashik case has shifted from a manhunt to a heated debate over identity and role. While Nashik police previously labeled 26-year-old Nida Khan as the “absconding mastermind” behind a sexual harassment and religious conversion syndicate, her family has come forward with a different story. On Friday, April 17, 2026, her relatives revealed that Nida is not on the run but is currently at her home in Mumbai. Furthermore, they disclosed that she is expecting her first child, adding a layer of complexity to the high-profile scandal.

The controversy began at a BPO unit in Nashik linked to Tata Consultancy Services (TCS). An FIR filed by a 23-year-old employee accused senior colleague Danish Shaikh of exploitation under the pretext of marriage. However, the probe quickly expanded to include allegations of forced religious conversion and workplace intimidation. While police arrested seven individuals, the search for Khan intensified until her family spoke out to clarify her actual position and whereabouts.

Tele-Caller or HR Head? Role Confusion in the Spotlight

A major point of contention in the Nida Khan TCS Nashik saga is her professional designation. Initial police reports and viral social media posts identified her as the “HR Head” who allegedly suppressed victim complaints. Conversely, her family maintains that Nida joined the BPO in December 2021 as a simple tele-caller in the sales department. They claim she never held a position in Human Resources or any senior administrative role.

According to her brother, a viral image showing her as the “HR Head” was digitally altered using a photo from her personal Instagram account. Her family argues that there are at least three levels of seniority above her, making it impossible for her to be a “mastermind.” Nida, a commerce graduate currently pursuing an MBA, moved to Mumbai in January 2024 after her marriage. Her lawyer, Baba Sayyed, confirmed that she was working at the company’s Malad office until her suspension on April 9.

Serious Allegations and the SIT Investigation

Despite the family’s denials, the legal charges against Khan remain severe. She is named in an FIR lodged at the Devlali Police Station regarding religious harassment. The complainant alleges that Nida and a colleague named Tausif made objectionable remarks about Hindu deities. Additionally, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) is probing whether Khan acted as a “link” to help the other accused befriend and eventually coerce female employees.

The broader case involves nine FIRs and eight different complainants. These women have described a chilling four-year pattern of abuse, including stalking and physical advances. Tata Sons Chairman N. Chandrasekaran has expressed deep “anguish” over these reports. He has appointed TCS Chief Operating Officer Arathi Subramanian to lead a comprehensive internal audit. The goal is to determine if internal safeguards, such as the POSH (Prevention of Sexual Harassment) framework, were deliberately bypassed.

The Road Ahead for the Accused and Survivors

As the legal battle intensifies, Nida Khan’s legal team is preparing an anticipatory bail application before the Nashik sessions court. Her family emphasizes that no police officer has visited their door despite claims that she was “absconding.” Meanwhile, the SIT continues to examine digital footprints and CCTV footage from a resort where one survivor was allegedly assaulted. This evidence will be crucial in proving or disproving the existence of an organized syndicate.

For the survivors, the focus remains on justice and workplace reform. The IT sector has been jolted by these revelations, leading to calls for better grievance redressal mechanisms. Whether Nida Khan was a central figure or a victim of misidentification is a question only the court can resolve. For now, the Amravati and Nashik communities remain on edge as the investigation into this unprecedented corporate scandal unfolds.
