The declaration came during a high-level meeting between the Congressional India Caucus and a visiting all-party Indian parliamentary delegation, held in Washington, D.C.
Led by Congress MP Shashi Tharoor, the delegation included prominent political leaders from across India’s ideological spectrum, united in their mission to raise global awareness about cross-border terrorism and Pakistan’s alleged complicity.
Bipartisan Backing for India’s Anti-Terror Measures
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the Indian Embassy in the US reported,
“The Congressmen expressed unequivocal and bipartisan condemnation for the terror attack in Pahalgam. They expressed support for India’s right to respond to terrorism in the spirit of zero tolerance.”
This condemnation was echoed by both Democratic and Republican lawmakers who co-chair and vice-chair the India Caucus, including Rep. Ro Khanna, Rep. Rich McCormick, Rep. Andy Barr, and Rep. Marc Veasey.
The members were given detailed briefings on the evolving security threat India faces, particularly in the wake of the Pahalgam incident. The attack is seen as another reminder of the growing volatility in the region, allegedly fueled by cross-border extremist networks.

The delegation led by Shashi Tharoor is one of seven multi-party Indian teams dispatched to over 33 world capitals with a clear diplomatic agenda: counter Pakistan’s global narrative and expose its links to terror networks.

He added that India’s desire is to “live in peace”, but that it “cannot coexist with an unstable lunatic living next door”—a pointed reference to Pakistan’s role in regional instability.
