New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday hailed PM Modi Three-Nation Visit as a landmark diplomatic mission, highlighting several significant achievements that strengthen India’s strategic, economic, and global standing. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is currently on an official visit to Indonesia, Australia, and New Zealand, where multiple agreements have been announced across defence, trade, critical minerals, infrastructure, and energy.
Addressing a press conference at the BJP headquarters, BJP national spokesperson Tuhin Sinha said every overseas visit by Prime Minister Modi reflects the government’s commitment to development, national interest, and expanding India’s global influence.
BrahMos Missile Deal Marks Biggest Achievement
Calling it the most significant outcome of the PM Modi Three-Nation Visit, Sinha said India has agreed to supply the BrahMos supersonic cruise missile system to Indonesia under what is expected to be the country’s largest-ever defence export deal, valued at approximately ₹5,400 crore.
He noted that the agreement demonstrates India’s growing capabilities as a defence manufacturing hub while strengthening strategic cooperation with Southeast Asian nations.
Critical Minerals Partnerships to Boost India’s Growth
The BJP also highlighted new partnerships with Indonesia and Australia in the critical minerals sector. According to Sinha, Indonesia’s vast nickel reserves and Australia’s rich rare earth resources will play a crucial role in supporting India’s semiconductor manufacturing, electric vehicle production, and renewable energy ambitions.
The PM Modi Three-Nation Visit further reinforces India’s long-term strategy to secure reliable supply chains for critical minerals essential to emerging technologies.
Sabang Port and Indo-Pacific Strategy
Sinha emphasized that the joint development of Indonesia’s Sabang Port in Aceh province represents a major strategic gain for India. Located close to the Strait of Malacca, one of the world’s busiest maritime trade routes, the project is expected to enhance India’s presence in the Indo-Pacific region.
He added that when viewed alongside the Great Nicobar Project, the initiative reflects India’s expanding strategic footprint and maritime security interests.
Australia Uranium Agreement Supports Clean Energy Goals
Another important outcome of the PM Modi Three-Nation Visit is the nuclear energy cooperation with Australia. The agreement on uranium supply is expected to accelerate India’s nuclear power expansion plans and support the country’s target of generating 100 gigawatts of nuclear energy by 2047.
The BJP said the partnership would contribute significantly to India’s clean energy transition and long-term energy security.
Global Recognition and Investment Commitments
Sinha also pointed to Prime Minister Modi being conferred Indonesia’s highest civilian honour and his visit to the historic Prambanan Temple as symbols of India’s growing global influence and civilisational outreach.
Responding to criticism from the Congress, the BJP spokesperson said the 35 highest civilian honours received by Prime Minister Modi from different countries reflect international recognition of India’s leadership and its role in representing the Global South.
Additionally, Indonesia has committed to invest USD 500 million in India’s infrastructure sector, while the BJP expressed optimism that Modi’s engagements in New Zealand would also produce meaningful outcomes.
PM Modi Three-Nation Visit Enhances India’s Strategic Position
The PM Modi Three-Nation Visit is being projected by the BJP as a major diplomatic success that advances India’s interests in defence exports, critical minerals, infrastructure development, clean energy, and regional security. With agreements spanning multiple sectors and stronger engagement with key Indo-Pacific partners, the visit is expected to further reinforce India’s position as an emerging global power.
