New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday warmly congratulated Nitin Nabin on being elected as the new national president of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Speaking at the BJP headquarters, Modi struck a personal note, calling Nabin his “boss” while reaffirming his own identity as a dedicated party worker.
Addressing a gathering of party workers, the Prime Minister lauded the contributions of former BJP presidents and expressed confidence that Nitin Nabin would uphold the organisation’s ideological and organisational legacy at a crucial juncture in India’s political landscape.
“When It Comes to the Party, He Is the Boss”
Modi emphasized that within the BJP, collective discipline and commitment matter more than positions. “When it comes to the party, Nitin Nabin ji is the boss, and I am a party worker,” he said, earning enthusiastic applause. He congratulated Nabin on behalf of millions of BJP workers across India and acknowledged the pivotal role of previous presidents in strengthening the party.
“A Millennial Leader for a Crucial Era”
Modi highlighted the importance of the coming decades for India’s development, describing the next 25 years as decisive for the nation’s transformation. He said Nabin’s appointment is timely, symbolizing generational continuity and progress. “To put it in the language of today’s youth, Nitin ji himself is, in a way, a millennial,” Modi remarked, noting Nabin’s journey from growing up with radio to embracing technologies like artificial intelligence.

The Prime Minister praised Nabin’s combination of youthful energy and deep organisational experience, which he said would benefit BJP workers at every level.
BJP’s Ideals Remain Constant
Reflecting on the party’s ethos, Modi described the BJP as more than a political organisation: “The BJP is a culture. The BJP is a family.” He stressed that leadership roles may change, but the party’s ideals, processes, and national outlook remain constant. “The BJP is a tradition driven by process, not by position,” he said, emphasizing the party’s role in translating regional aspirations into national ambitions.
Modi concluded by highlighting the BJP’s enduring appeal across India, noting that its platform enables individuals from every region to begin their political journey while contributing to the nation’s growth.
