New Delhi: The NEET-UG re-examination 2026 was conducted in a smooth, secure and error-free manner across India and several international centres, National Testing Agency (NTA) Director General Abhishek Singh said on Monday. He asserted that the exam was held with “zero tolerance for malpractice” and there was no possibility of any paper leak.
Speaking after the completion of the examination, Singh said the NEET-UG re-examination 2026 was carried out under strict multi-layered security arrangements to ensure transparency, fairness and convenience for candidates.
“Error-free and flawless” examination process
The NTA chief described the NEET-UG re-examination 2026 as a highly secure process conducted with close coordination between central and state agencies. He said all precautions were taken to ensure a glitch-free exam with complete control over the chain of custody of question papers.
According to him, the NEET-UG re-examination 2026 was designed to eliminate any scope of malpractice while maintaining a smooth experience for over 20 lakh candidates.
Action against misinformation and Telegram restriction
The NTA also defended the temporary blocking of Telegram before the exam, saying the platform was being misused to spread false claims of paper leaks and create unnecessary stress among students.
Officials said misinformation campaigns surrounding the NEET-UG re-examination 2026 were being actively monitored, and steps were taken to prevent fraudsters from circulating fake question papers or misleading candidates.

Strict warning against fraud and fake news
Abhishek Singh warned that strict legal action will be taken against anyone involved in spreading misinformation or attempting to scam students. He said such activities related to the NEET-UG re-examination 2026 are under surveillance by enforcement agencies.
He further assured that there was “no possibility of any leak” in the examination and that all suspicious activities are being dealt with firmly.
Massive nationwide and international participation
The NEET-UG re-examination 2026 was conducted for over 20 lakh candidates at 5,440 examination centres across India and 14 international locations. The exam was held in 13 languages under tight security measures, including biometric verification, CCTV surveillance, signal jammers, and real-time monitoring.
Authorities described the process as a “whole-of-government approach” involving multiple agencies to ensure the smooth conduct of the NEET-UG re-examination 2026.
Officials concluded that the NEET-UG re-examination 2026 was conducted successfully without any malpractice or disruption. The NTA reiterated that strong security systems and coordinated monitoring ensured a fair and transparent examination process for all candidates.
