Prime Minister Narendra Modi today met the President of the United Arab Emirates, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, on the sidelines of the G7 Summit in Evian, France. The meeting marked the third interaction between the two leaders in 2026, highlighting the continued strength of the India UAE Strategic Partnership.
The India UAE Strategic Partnership has witnessed significant momentum following high-level exchanges between both nations, including President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed’s visit to India in January 2026 and Prime Minister Modi’s visit to the UAE in May 2026.
India UAE Strategic Partnership Reviewed Across Key Sectors
During the meeting, both leaders reviewed progress in the India UAE Strategic Partnership, particularly in areas such as trade, investment, technology, energy, and defence.
They noted positive developments emerging from recent bilateral engagements and reaffirmed their commitment to further deepen cooperation under the India UAE Strategic Partnership framework.

Focus on Regional Stability and Global Cooperation
Prime Minister Modi emphasised the importance of dialogue, diplomacy, and respect for international law, sovereignty, and territorial integrity in ensuring peace and stability in West Asia. These discussions were a key part of strengthening the broader India UAE Partnership.

Both sides also called for continued free and secure maritime navigation and uninterrupted trade through the Strait of Hormuz.
Global Engagement
The leaders also exchanged views on regional and global developments of mutual interest, reinforcing coordination under the India UAE Strategic Partnership on key international issues.
Prime Minister Modi extended an invitation to the UAE President to attend the upcoming BRICS Summit to be hosted by India later this year, further strengthening diplomatic engagement within the India UAE Strategic Partnership.
