Subhash Ghai opens up about Ranbir Kapoor ’s growth, Rishi Kapoor’s concerns, and how Ranbir became a star while staying humble and grounded.

Renowned director Subhash Ghai has provided unique insights into the connection between Ranbir Kapoor and his father, the late Bollywood icon Rishi Kapoor. Ghai, who was close to Rishi Kapoor, recently spoke with CNN-News18 about their relationship, Ranbir’s development as an actor, and his current position in the business.

“Rishi Kapoor and Ranbir Kapoor are two different personalities,” Ghai said, describing the inherent conflicts between the two as a traditional father-son interaction. The father is always against the way the younger generation wants to live, and the son is against what the father desires. Ghai remembered that after studying filmmaking in New York, Ranbir would regularly receive reprimands from Rishi. Ranbir would obediently comply, but he would later vent his frustrations on Neetu Kapoor, emphasizing the disparity between their personalities: “They were two different personalities altogether.”
