On his 43rd birthday, Ranbir Kapoor said that he will soon be directing movies and that he would be working with his master Sanjay Leela Bhansali again on Love & War starring Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal.

On Sunday, actor Ranbir Kapoor celebrated his 43rd birthday by giving his followers an intimate live Instagram session in which he revealed details about his future professional goals. The actor gave fans a better glimpse at his goals outside of performing by holding the session on the official page of his apparel line, Arks.

“When are we getting RK the director?” a fan questioned during the session. The way Ranbir responded showed a part of himself that has long captivated moviegoers. He revealed that directing a movie is one of his top priorities and that he has already started setting the foundation.

“I’ve been wanting to helm a film. Actually, I’ve started a writer’s room. I’m beginning to work on the two ideas I have in an effort to motivate myself. “But it is definitely on my to-do list in the next couple of years,” he stated, emphasizing his commitment to stretching his artistic boundaries and discovering new creative channels.

Ranbir Kapoor on War and Love

The topic of discussion also shifted to Ranbir’s next movie, Love & War, in which he would work with director Sanjay Leela Bhansali again after an 18-year breakup. Ranbir said that Bhansali had a significant impact on the development of his craft. Mr. Sanjay Leela Bhansali is the director of the film “Love and War,” which stars Vicky Kaushal, one of my two favorite actors, and my incredibly talented wife Alia Bhatt. He is the man who taught me everything I know about acting and cinema, and he was a master back then. I’ve been working with him for eighteen years, and he’s an even bigger master now. Therefore, I’m really pleased with that partnership,” he remarked, expressing his eagerness to collaborate with his mentor once more.

Working as an assistant on the movie Black, which starred Amitabh Bachchan and Rani Mukerji, marked the beginning of Ranbir’s Bollywood career under Bhansali’s guidance. He learned a great deal about acting, narrative, and filmmaking from this early exposure. Later, he made his acting debut in Saawariya, a romance drama directed by Bhansali in 2007 that also marked the beginning of Sonam Kapoor’s career.

Ranbir also discussed how working with co-stars Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal has given his next project more vigor and excitement during the Instagram session. His open discussion revealed his respect for his mentor as well as his goals to advance as a filmmaker in the years to come.
