Priyanka Chopra Jonas reflects on 10 years in Hollywood, says her Bollywood films offer more creative diversity than international roles.

Priyanka Chopra Jonas is reflecting on the two worlds she lives in, Hollywood and Hindi cinema, as she celebrates ten years of working in the US. The actor acknowledged that her Indian filmography still has more creative diversity than her well-known international slate in an open interview with PTI from Los Angeles.

Priyanka Considers Two Careers: “My Indian Filmography Has More Range”

With Quantico, Priyanka made her debut in American entertainment in 2015, but she claimed she hasn’t yet attained the same level of success overseas as she did in India. “My Indian or Hindi filmography exhibits a great deal more diversity than what I have been able to accomplish in my international work. Like in my Bollywood films, I hope to be able to develop variety and produce incredibly captivating work in my English-language work as well,” she stated.

Despite living in Hollywood for eleven years, she admitted that she still saw herself as being in the early stages of her Western journey. Therefore, there is a lot more progress I hope to make there. I’m still in the early stages of my Hollywood career,” she continued.

Her comments are in line with the broader industry discourse over the lack of diverse roles for performers of color in Western entertainment.

From Pageant Winner to World Famous

At the age of 18, Priyanka won Miss World 2000, marking the beginning of her more than two-decade career. Her first motion pictures were Andaaz, Aitraaz, Don, Fashion, and Barfi. – works that demonstrated her ability to move between genres with ease.

She was already regarded as one of Bollywood’s most versatile names by the time she relocated to the United States for Quantico.

Speaking about her current stage, Priyanka expressed her excitement about the global chances that lie ahead. “I’m in a really fascinating place where I have a fantastic opportunity to collaborate with a variety of international filmmakers.” She said, “And I’m grasping that with both hands.”

The impending Heads of State, Love Again, The Matrix Resurrections, and Baywatch are all on her Hollywood schedule. Citadel and other international streaming successes feature her.

In 2027, SS Rajamouli’s film will return to India.

Varanasi, directed by SS Rajamouli and starring Mahesh Babu and Prithviraj Sukumaran, is slated for release in 2027, marking Priyanka’s comeback to Indian cinema. In almost eight years, this will be her first Indian endeavor.

For the time being, the actor is still dedicated to growing her global presence and reestablishing her connection with the business that shaped her as a performer.
