New Delhi – The KVS name and logo misuse notice has been issued by the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) in response to rising instances of the organisation’s identity being used without permission across films, web series, social media reels, advertisements, and other digital platforms. The notice warns that using KVS’s uniform, logo, name, emblem, or any associated elements without prior written approval is strictly prohibited.
According to the notice, portraying KVS, its students, or teachers in a misleading, derogatory, or indecent manner can harm the institution’s image and discipline. The KVS name and logo misuse notice clarifies that such actions may constitute defamation, misrepresentation, or infringement of intellectual property and trademark rights, and may result in legal proceedings, including civil and criminal action.
KVS Name and Logo Misuse Notice Follows Controversy Over Badshah’s Song ‘Tateeree’
The controversy followed the release of Badshah’s song “Tateeree,” which drew criticism from several women’s organisations for allegedly inappropriate lyrics and visuals. Certain scenes in the music video were said to misrepresent educational institutions, prompting the registration of an FIR on March 6 at the Cyber Police Station in Panchkula under Section 296 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Sections 3 and 4 of the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act, 1986.
In response, Badshah removed the song from all platforms and issued a public apology. “I come from Haryana and have always been proud of my culture. My lyrics were aimed at competitors and were never meant to disrespect any woman, child, or educational institution. I sincerely apologise if anyone was hurt,” Badshah stated.
KVS Warns Against Unauthorized Use of Uniforms, Logos, and Institutional Identity
The KVS name and logo misuse notice emphasizes that no individual, content creator, production house, or digital media agency is allowed to use KVS uniforms, look-alike uniforms, logos, or any institutional element without written permission. The organisation urged the public and creators to respect the institution’s identity to maintain the dignity of its students and teachers.
