Television Star Jasmin Bhasin has shared a chilling account of a casting experience that turned into a nightmare, reveals how a director crossed boundaries during an audition in a Mumbai Hotel
During a Candid Conversation, the Dil se Dil Tak and Naagin 4 actor recalled that the incident took place shortly after she moved to Mumbai to pursue acting.
“I had come to Bombay for auditions, and in a hotel in Juhu, there was this meeting. A lot of girls and actresses were there waiting in the lobby, and there were many coordinators. Everybody was going in for the meeting. When it was my turn, I got scared seeing a man having a drink and telling me to audition. Even the coordinator left the room. So first, I got scared.” She said
Jasmin further said, the director allegedly insisted that she perform the scene at that very moment since she had asked for time to prepare and return the next day. “‘Your lover is leaving, you have to stop him’ is what he told me, for example. I did it, and then he said, ‘Not like this,’ and locked the door and tried to do something else. I used my presence of mind, escaped, and decided that day I would never have meetings in hotel rooms anymore,” said Jasmin.
Describing the incident as “scary,” Jasmin said it has left a deep imprint on how she navigates through the entertainment industry. She counsels aspiring actors to trust their instincts, set boundaries, and never put their safety on the line for the sake of opportunity. Jasmin has carved out an illustrious career, facing such challenges in the early days; today, she stands alongside the most sought-after faces on television.
