Mumbai Police Summons Orry in Major MD Racket Investigation
Influencer Orhan Awatramani, known widely as Orry, has been summoned by the Mumbai Police in the Orry drug case linked to a ₹252 crore mephedrone racket. The Anti-Narcotics Cell has asked him to appear at its Ghatkopar unit on November 20 for detailed questioning. Moreover, this questioning is part of an ongoing probe into one of the city’s largest synthetic drug operations.
The case began in March 2024 when police raided a hidden factory in Sangli, Maharashtra. During the raid, officers seized 126.14 kg of MDMA. This discovery exposed a network that officials say operated across states and even outside India. During interrogations, key accused Salim Shaikh revealed details that linked the local unit to Dubai-based handlers. He also referred to connections involving Dawood Ibrahim’s niece. These claims pushed the police to widen the scope of the investigation.
