Diljit Dosanjh reunites with Imtiaz Ali, sharing behind-the-scenes moments and his daily routine on the set of their untitled film.

Punjabi superstar Diljit Dosanjh, who has reunited with filmmaker Imtiaz Ali, is chronicling his typical day on location in Punjab.

On Thursday, the actor-singer posted a video of himself from a haveli in Punjab on his Instagram. The actor is presently based in Punjab for an assignment. In the video, the actor stated that he commenced his day early at 4:30 a.m. and engaged in some exercise. He subsequently seated himself for breakfast and was observed consuming fruits accompanied by some protein.

The actor subsequently departed for the filming location accompanied by his team. He filmed several sequences in front of a green screen and also recorded Imtiaz Ali during their interactions on set. The actor subsequently concluded their activities for the day and proceeded to the haveli.

The untitled film represents the second collaboration between Diljit and Imtiaz following \u2018Amar Singh Chamkila,\u2019 which was centered on the renowned and controversial Punjabi singer-songwriter of the 1980s. The film additionally featured Parineeti Chopra portraying Chamkila’s wife.

Chamkila was frequently referred to as the “Elvis of Punjab” due to his vigorous energy, captivating performances, and provocative, socially conscious lyrics. His life, musical career, and tragic demise—during which he and his wife Amarjot were assassinated in 1988—have become a notable chapter in Punjabi cultural history.

The film received two nominations at the International Emmy Awards: one for Best Performance by an Actor for Diljit’s portrayal, and another in the category of Best TV Movie or Mini-Series.

Although the film and Diljit did not secure victory at the 53rd International Emmy Awards, the nominations represented a significant milestone for Indian and Punjabi storytelling on the international stage. The acknowledgment emphasized Chamkila’s lasting legacy and the increasing global recognition of India’s culturally significant content.
