Border 2 Box Office Day 7 Update : A week after its theatrical release, Border 2, starring Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, and Diljit Dosanjh, continues to post strong overall numbers despite a noticeable mid-week slowdown. The film opened on a solid note, earning ₹30 crore on Friday, and saw a major boost on Republic Day with collections touching ₹59 crore. However, the positive momentum began to weaken thereafter, with earnings dropping sharply by 66% on Tuesday to ₹20 crore. The downward trend continued through Wednesday and Thursday, when the film collected ₹13 crore and ₹11.25 crore respectively—an overall decline of 81% from its Republic Day peak, as per Sacnilk.

Even with this significant dip, Border 2 has performed impressively at the box office. Its first-week India nett collection stands at ₹224.25 crore, while worldwide earnings have reached ₹309.50 crore. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh pointed out that the film has become Sunny Deol’s highest-grossing release after Gadar 2, despite the weekday fall.

Made on a budget of ₹275 crore, the film has already crossed the ₹200 crore mark. Its performance over the upcoming weekend will be crucial in determining its long-term box office prospects.

Border 2 : Occupancy Trends and City-wise Performance

On Thursday, Border 2 recorded an overall Hindi occupancy of 14.52%. Night shows performed best with 20.11% occupancy, while morning shows lagged behind at just 6.67%.

Although NCR and Mumbai hosted the highest number of shows—1,714 and 1,041 respectively—the occupancy levels in these regions remained lower than expected.

Directed by Anurag Singh and co-produced by T-Series and JP Films, Border 2 is the sequel to JP Dutta’s 1997 war classic Border. The project was announced on the film’s 27th anniversary and draws inspiration from the India-Pakistan war of 1971.
