Sunny Deol has expressed a heartfelt tribute to his father Dharmendra on what would have been his 90th birth anniversary, marking his first public statement since the veteran actor’s passing last month. Dharmendra passed away on November 24, shortly before reaching the age of 90.

Sunny shared a nostalgic flashback video on Instagram depicting the two enjoying time together in the hills. In the footage, Sunny is observed recording his father, Dharmendra, who is positioned against a scenic mountain backdrop and attired in a black jacket and cap. Sunny inquires, “Is Papa enjoying himself?” to which Dharmendra responds with a smile, “I am truly enjoying my son.” It is truly delightful.

Sunny authored the post in Hindi, stating, “Today is my father’s birthday.” Papa is always with me, within me. Love you, Papa. I miss you. The actor has maintained a predominantly private demeanor since Dharmendra’s passing, previously requesting the media to respect their family’s privacy during the period of their hospitalization.

Esha Deol’s tribute to her father

Earlier today, Esha Deol paid tribute to her father with a heartfelt message, contemplating their relationship and his enduring legacy. To my dearest Papa… Our agreement, the most profound connection… She wrote, “We are always united, father.” She also reminisced about his affection and guidance, stating, “I deeply miss you, Papa… your comforting, protective embraces… your voice calling my name…”

On this occasion, Dharmendra’s nephew and actor Abhay Deol reflected on a treasured moment he experienced with his uncle.

Abhay Deol reminisces about childhood recollections with Dharmendra

Abhay shared a vintage photograph on Instagram, depicting a juvenile version of himself seated beside the renowned Hindi cinema star as they gazed into the distance.

Sharing the memory associated with the photograph, Abhay remarked, “It must have been 1985 or 1986.” I had recently been reprimanded, and I was feeling distraught. He summoned me to his side, seated me beside him, and said, “Observe the light,” before instructing the photographer to capture this photograph.

He further stated, “I eagerly anticipate the moment I hear him utter those words to me once more, when my time arrives.” Today marked his birthday.

For those who are unaware, Dharmendra’s younger sibling, Ajit Singh Deol, is Abhay’s father.
