Indian music sensation Arijit Singh has officially become the most-followed artist on Spotify, reaching a staggering 151 million followers and overtaking global pop icon Taylor Swift, who currently stands at 139.5 million.

According to ChartMasters, the milestone was achieved on July 1, marking a historic moment for Indian music on the global stage. Ed Sheeran takes third place with 121 million followers, followed by Billie Eilish with 113 million and The Weeknd with 107 million.

Arijit’s dominance reflects not only his massive popularity in India but also his growing global reach. Among Indian artists, only AR Rahman has managed to break into the top 20, sitting at number 14 with 65 million followers. Pritam ranks 21st with 53 million, while Neha Kakkar holds the 25th spot with 48 million followers.

This achievement highlights the rising influence of Indian music and artists on international platforms like Spotify.

According to ChartMasters, Arijit earns approximately $448,400 (around ₹3.8 crore) per month from streaming, placing him 14th globally in music earnings. Though Taylor Swift leads in overall streams with 184 billion, Arijit still holds a strong position at number 13 with 77 billion total streams across all platforms.

Arjit’s global presence continues to grow—not just through numbers but also through collaborations. He teamed up with Ed Sheeran on the track Sapphire, and now Indian fans are buzzing with excitement as BTS’ label HYBE plans to open a Mumbai office by late 2025, sparking hopes for K-pop collaborations and concerts in India.
