Alia Bhatt’s Former Personal Assistant Arrested for ₹76 Lakh Fraud in Mumbai
In a major breakthrough in a months-long investigation, the Juhu Police on Tuesday arrested Vedika Prakash Shetty, former personal assistant to Bollywood actor Alia Bhatt, for allegedly committing financial fraud amounting to over ₹76 lakh. Vedika was apprehended in Bengaluru nearly five months after a formal complaint was lodged by Alia’s mother, Soni Razdan, in February this year.
Forgery, Fraud, and Misuse of Authority
According to police sources, Vedika allegedly misused her trusted position and forged Alia’s signature multiple times to siphon off funds from the accounts of Alia’s production company, Eternal Sunshine Productions Pvt Ltd, as well as the actor’s personal bank accounts.
The fraudulent transactions are said to have occurred over a two-year period between 2023 and 2025, amounting to a staggering ₹76,90,892. She allegedly diverted the funds into her own accounts without the actor’s knowledge.
Months-Long Investigation Leads to Arrest
Following the complaint filed by Soni Razdan, the police registered an FIR and began tracking Vedika’s movements. After months of search and analysis of financial records, a Mumbai Police team tracked her to Bengaluru, where she was arrested and brought back to Mumbai for further interrogation.
Officials stated that her bank records, transaction history, and digital communications are now under investigation to uncover the full scope of the alleged embezzlement.
Who is Vedika Prakash Shetty?
Vedika had been working as Alia Bhatt’s personal assistant for over two years, during which she managed several sensitive responsibilities including financial coordination, production tasks, and personal scheduling. She was also involved in overseeing some operations at Eternal Sunshine Productions, Alia’s independent film banner.
Sources close to the matter say that her professional relationship with Alia ended in 2024 under unclear circumstances.
No Statement Yet from Alia Bhatt or Her Team
As of now, Alia Bhatt and her representatives have not issued any official statement regarding the arrest. Insiders believe the actor’s legal team will likely wait until more details emerge from the ongoing investigation.
The case has attracted wide attention in the entertainment industry, raising serious concerns about trust, internal controls, and due diligence in celebrity circles.
