“Stardom is earned, not given”- Ajay Devgan sets record for Bollywood Newcomers
Veteran actor Ajay Devgn has voiced his concerns over rising expectations among newcomers, especially those without a film background, saying many are “misguided” and believe they’ll become stars overnight.
In a candid interview, Devgn said while talent matters, success in Bollywood doesn’t comes instantly. “They assume if they get a film, they will become stars overnight. But it doesn’t work like that. I’ve seen many give up after a few failures,” he shared.
He emphasized that consistent efforts and patience is the key to success in film industry – regardless of background. Ajay, who himself worked his way up despite being a star kid, added that the film industry today is more open to outsiders than ever before.
However, he pointed out that many newcomers are chasing fame rather than focusing on the craft. “They want to be famous more than they want to act,” he said, warning that short-term thinking leads to burnout and disappointment.
Devgn encouraged aspiring actors to learn the ropes, accept failures and be persistent, saying only those who truly love the art – survive in the long run
