The gold rate today witnessed an upward movement in the domestic commodity market as bullion prices remained firm during early trade. Despite rising geopolitical tensions due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, investor response has remained relatively cautious in the bullion market.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), gold futures have been hovering between ₹1,60,000 and ₹1,63,000 per 10 grams over the past few sessions. However, the gold rate today showed renewed momentum after a slight decline in the previous session.
MCX Gold and Silver Prices
The MCX Gold April contract closed at ₹1,59,673 per 10 grams in the previous session after witnessing a decline. In early trade today, the gold rate today surged by more than ₹1,500, touching a high of ₹1,61,250 per 10 grams.
Similarly, MCX Silver May futures also recorded a strong rise. Silver prices jumped by ₹6,800, reaching a high of ₹2,68,991 per kilogram, compared to the previous close of ₹2,62,191 per kilogram.
At the time of writing, MCX Silver was trading at ₹2,67,495, up ₹5,304 or 2.02%, while MCX Gold was trading at ₹1,60,826, rising ₹1,153 or 0.72%, reflecting the firm trend in the gold rate today.
Gold Price in the International Market
In the global market, bullion prices also traded higher. COMEX Gold was last seen trading at $5,141.70 per ounce, up $63 or 1.24%. At the same time, COMEX Silver was trading at $84.57 per ounce, rising $2.389 or 2.91%.

The rise in international prices has also contributed to the increase in the gold rate today in the domestic market.
24 Karat and 22 Karat Gold Rate in India
According to the latest market data, the gold rate today in India for 24 karat gold stands at ₹1,61,540 per 10 grams, while 22 karat gold is priced at ₹1,48,078 per 10 grams.
