Large Herd Enters Active Mining Sector
Mining operations and everyday village life came to a halt in Jharkhand’s Ramgarh district after a herd of elephants near coal mines was spotted early in the morning. Over 40 wild elephants moved into forested patches adjacent to Central Coalfields Limited (CCL) operational sites.

Forest Department Interventions and Safety Measures
Forest officials issued high alerts across nearby villages, advising miners and local residents to refrain from approaching the animals. Quick Response Teams (QRT) were deployed to track the herd’s movements and direct them safely back into deep forest corridors.
