Institutional Response and Campus Climate

However, the administration acknowledges that the student was caught using a mobile phone during an examination earlier that day. An invigilator asked him to leave the exam hall. The institute maintains that the faculty member only counselled the student and assured him it would not adversely affect his academic career.
The student returned to his hostel room after the exam incident. He was later found dead. The Crime Branch will now ascertain whether the death was directly linked to the exam incident or the alleged caste harassment.
