LUCKNOW — The Uttar Pradesh government has launched a aggressive crackdown on food adulteration across the state. The Food Safety and Drug Administration (FSDA) initiated this effort on August 20, 2026. The drive aims to protect public health before major celebrations.

Additionally, teams destroyed 18,607 kilograms and 7,630 liters of unhygienic materials. Major Raids Target Kanpur, Lucknow, Sambhal, and Mathura
Enforcement teams uncovered widespread hygiene violations during surprise raids across multiple cities. In Kanpur Nagar, officers inspected Hatia Khoya Mandi and destroyed 430 kilograms of bad khoya. Kanpur Dehat police registered cases against units using refined oil and skimmed milk powder (SMP).
In Lucknow, authorities raided Shivakshi Sweets, collecting 15 samples. Officers destroyed 2,675 kilograms of contaminated food and closed the shop due to filth.
Sambhal officials raided a spurious ghee factory and seized 100 quintals of fake products. In Badaun, teams seized 1,605 kilograms of fake desi ghee worth ₹10.53 lakh. Mathura police filed multiple FIRs against units making synthetic paneer with refined oil.
Targeting Raw Materials and Enforcing Zero Tolerance
This campaign focuses heavily on confiscating chemical raw materials. Inspectors seized large stocks of vegetable oil, synthetic dyes, and sodium bicarbonate across Prayagraj, Aligarh, Firozabad, and Ghaziabad.
