Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has called for a united social movement to make the state free from addiction. Addressing the Drugs Free Haryana Campaign dialogue programme with state NGOs and chemist associations in Panchkula, Saini said that addiction is not just a law and order issue but a matter connected with humanity and society.
The Chief Minister shared details of the programme through his official X account and urged citizens to take a pledge to keep themselves, their families, villages, neighbourhoods and cities away from addiction.
Society’s Participation Essential in Drug-Free Mission
During the Drugs Free Haryana Campaign, Nayab Singh Saini highlighted the importance of cooperation between the government, social organisations and citizens in tackling the problem of drug addiction.\

He said that the long-term solution to addiction can only come through collective efforts. According to the Chief Minister, the objective is not limited to taking action against those involved in drug supply but also reducing and eliminating the demand for drugs.
NGOs and Chemist Associations Join the Dialogue
The dialogue programme in Panchkula focused on strengthening coordination between the government, NGOs and chemist associations to address addiction-related challenges.
The Drugs Free Haryana Campaign aims to create awareness among people, encourage community involvement and develop a stronger support system for individuals affected by addiction.
CM Saini said that every citizen has a role to play in building a healthier society and preventing the spread of substance abuse among the younger generation.
