The Uttar Pradesh government has released new guidelines for the Kanwar Yatra. Key decisions were made during a review meeting in Meerut involving UP officials and representatives from neighbouring states.

The Kanwar Yatra has new guidelines that have been announced by the Uttar Pradesh government. At a review conference in Meerut, officials from the Uttar Pradesh government and representatives from neighboring states made important choices.

Participants in the conference included representatives from Uttarakhand, Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan, and six divisions of western Uttar Pradesh, led by Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar Singh and DGP Prashant Kumar.The topics of conversation included the yatra’s itinerary, traffic control, and safety precautions.

Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, had earlier overseen exhaustive preparations for the occasion.It is forbidden for Kanwariyas to carry spears, tridents, or any other kind of weaponry as of July 22. The followers of the tricolor flag will be closely observed.

 

Along the way, camps with restrooms, food, and medical facilities will be erected; women will have separate accommodations.

 

DJ SOUND, HEIGHT LIMITS

 

There will be no ban on DJs, but sound limits will be enforced. The height of the Kanwar structures will also be regulated to prevent accidents with electric wires. CCTV and drones will monitor the yatra, and safety measures like covering electric poles and transformers will be implemented.

 

LIQUOR, MEAT SHOPS CLOSED

 

Liquor and meat shops on the yatra route will remain closed. The Kanwar route is divided into five zones, with WhatsApp groups for communication among officials. Senior officers and police station-level officers will share information in separate groups.

 

ID ISSUANCE, SECURITY MEASURES

 

Officials from other states are requested to issue IDs to Kanwariyas. Eight control rooms will be set up in UP and Uttarakhand for coordination. Special security arrangements will be in place at the borders of Delhi, Haryana, Uttarakhand, and Rajasthan, with active participation from bomb disposal squads and intelligence teams.Heavy vehicles will be banned from key routes, including the Delhi Expressway, Dehradun Expressway, and Chaudhary Charan Singh Kanwar Marg, starting at midnight on July 21.
